We are a local body of believers whose purpose is to proclaim
Jesus, and to equip each of us to live life more fully in
Him. Do you know Him? The Old Testament prophet Isaiah called
him "Immanuel" which means, "God with us." In
other words, in Jesus Christ (God's only begotten Son), God
the father has visited us. Speaking of Jesus, the Gospel
writer John said, "No one has ever seen God, but God
the One and Only who is at the father's side (Jesus Christ)
has made him known"
[John 1:18].
By His life, death and resurrection from the dead, Jesus
paid completely for the sins of all who trust in Him, setting
us free from eternal condemnation and empowering us to live
life in the fullness of God's Spirit. As we trust in Jesus
as Savior and Lordthat is, for the forgiveness of our
sins and for the care and direction of our liveswe come
to experience true life here on earth and receive an eternal
life of fellowship with God the Father.
John said, "He was in the world, and the world did not know
him. He came to his own, but his own did not receive him.
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John
1:10-13).
You can know him today by asking him to come into your life
as Savior and Lord and having faith that, in your asking,
he has done so. Do you know Him?
"Who is it that walked the streets of Galilee, healing
the sick and setting the captives free? It's Jesus, but do
you know who He is?"*
